The Story of the Princess Diaries and the Pink Princess
The Princess in Pink is actually the 5th story in The Princess Diaries series. The Princess Diaries were written by Meg Cabot, and the Pink Princess was the fifth in the series that was released in 2004.
In 2001, they released a full-length feature film by the same title: The Princess Diaries, and it starred Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway and Hector Elizondo. It was a box office smash, which in Hollywood means – sequel! In 2004 they released: The Princess Diaries 2 – The Royal Engagement, with the same cast returning to repeat their roles.
The Princess movies were such a success, Disney remodeled one of the bedrooms of the Presidential Suite at the Disneyland Hotel into Princess Mia’s room. The Mia room actually has some of the furniture from the set of the movie!
